About Us
Community Building Group Inc. (CBG Inc.) is a youth-centered nonprofit built by people who come from the very same neighborhoods, schools, and life experiences as the young people we serve.
We didn’t create this organization from the outside looking in.
We created it from the inside—because we lived it.
Our team grew up in this community. We understand today’s youth culture because we were part of it. We understand the pressures young people face because many of us faced them ourselves. And we understand the power that music, sports, mentorship, and opportunity can have—because those same pathways helped shape our own lives.
CBG exists to turn those experiences into something meaningful for the next generation.

Our Story
Community Building Group Inc. started long before it became a nonprofit.
It started with a passion for music, a group of friends, and time spent together at family cookouts playing backyard football, kickball, and basketball. Those moments weren’t programs. They weren’t planned initiatives. They were just young people building connection, competition, creativity, and community the way we naturally knew how.
We never set out to create an organization.
But once we saw what those spaces meant to the people around us — especially the younger generation watching us, learning from us, and wanting to be part of it — we realized something important:
this had become bigger than us.
And once it did, it became our responsibility to serve.
As the same kids who grew up in this community, we understood what today’s youth are facing because we lived many of those same experiences ourselves. Music gave us direction. Sports gave us discipline. Mentorship gave us perspective. Community gave us support.
CBG was built to pass those same opportunities forward.
Today, Community Building Group Inc. continues that same spirit — creating spaces where young people can gather, create, compete, learn, and grow together through music, sports, and mentorship. What started in backyards and family gatherings has grown into a mission to help the next generation discover their voice, their confidence, and their future.
We didn’t build CBG to change the community from the outside.
We built it because we are the community.
